Much delayed, but a small hint of whats to come

I’ve been extremely busy lately moving everything from one place to another, and haven’t had any time to push out code changes to EVE-Central. So, in order to make it look like there is some progress (;)), I’ve added a quick “Latest Transactions” section to each item. The filtering is bad (it doesn’t quite get regions yet) and only shows the last 10 entries. There is a lot more backend work, including new aggregate pricing models, which use this data, however the data is brought out to the API or webpages yet.

This transaction data is provided by users (you included!) giving EVE-Central.com Full EVE API access to your account so the system can pull market transaction logs. The more people who contribute, the better it gets.

  1. hello,

are you still working on the nRF24Z1 Breakout Board? would be to cool to have professionally made PCBs with efficient antenna on-board, so I’m kinda looking forward to you selling some.

    cheers

  2. @Peter: Yes, this project is still ongoing. :)

  3. Perhaps I’m missing something, but why not scrape the market logs automatically ala EVE-Metrics? That avoids exposing API keys and lets you pull in data even from people who aren’t buying stuff.

  4. Certainly Verite,

The EVE-Metrics log scraper scrapes cache files, the format of which is not publicly available. EVE-Central has always been about using the “open” method of market exchange (but for what its worth, EVE-Central automatically monitors open orders on EVE-Metrics and does some crude data exchange).

The API transaction log pulling is a completely separate mechanism. We cannot see *open* orders (there is no API mechanism for this, hence EVE-Central has a place in this world), but we can see *transactions* (sales that actually occurred). This is an invaluable number which cannot be retrieved from other sources.

  5. Wait. So you pull only the transactions, not the market orders? Do you plan to include the active orders as returned by the API?

  6. @Skolima V1 of the API only contained market transactions. Now that market orders are available, we will be pulling those as well.
