IRM 1.6

Filed under: IRM 2, PHP, Software — Yann @ 10:04 pm

Work is progressing well on an interim release of IRM, to be called 1.6, from the original code base.. This is where most of my development time has been going these past two weeks. This is an effort to provide useful fixes and functionality now, instead of in “the future”. But working on it, despite many fixes from contributors such as Matt Palmer and Martin Stevens, is like trying to tame a beast. But at least we’re making progress ;)

Feel free to hop on the irm-devel mailing list in order to check out current work, or look at the regulary updated Demo: http://www.stackworks.net/irmdemo/demo/

  1. Hi,

you may remember I posted a bug from irm 1.5.8.

It looks like 1.60 has that bugged ironed out.

I checked the file mod dates on the 1.5.8-dev download and unless the file mod dates are static, no mods are ocurring to this code which means that if its been fixed, the fix is not in this release. The question is: is the development code available?

I don’t have time to contribute code but I can test it.

  3. Hello,

I woud strongly suggest a serious erritant problem in IRM.

First i will explain something, by my compagny i have allmost all devices (switches printers and computers) stickerd with the IRM number.

Example: I connect my switch with irm nr. 62 port 8 to switch irm nr 23 port 2. So in IRM i go to devices and then to networking. I select the first switch and i click the port i want to connect. And then i would like to select the second switch, but i only can see the name of the switch, i can not find the switch bij IRM number. But we have a lot of the same switches so i really don’t know wich switch i have to choose.

For me i fixed the problem so to set the nae als follow: (23) 3COM[type number] but i really suggest that i can find my switch by IRM number.

Am i the only one with this problem?

We used IRM like a year very intensive and i really like this system. But i think that I my suggestions here often down will set, for a positive development of IRM
